What does DRS mean for your store?
From 1 October 2027, a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) will apply to eligible single-use drinks containers. Customers will pay a 20p deposit when they buy a drink and get it back when they return the empty bottle or can.
Think of it like buying the drink, but borrowing the bottle.
As a retailer, you'll play a key role – charging the deposit and providing a place for customers to return their containers.
